Bobbi Brown Weightless Foundation
Did I have any business spending more money on a new foundation? No, but… I’m a sucker for anything skin related and I don’t think I have ever tried any of Bobbi Brown’s foundations before but I have always wanted to. I feel like this brand is known for making the essential products needed for a classic and clean makeup look, and don’t know why it’s taken me so long to give it a try.
I am excited to see how this wears during the summer months, it gives a really natural and sheer coverage effect that is perfect for the upcoming season. The packaging for this foundation says “full coverage” so after swatching this at the store I expected for it be a pretty heavy base and to only need a minimal amount of product. To my surprise I actually felt like this one applies more like a tinted moisturizer! Although it’s completely different than what I thought I was getting, I still really love the look and feel it gives. Without any concealer or powder the coverage is very soft, I have plenty of freckles and this seems to even out any redness and lessen the appearance of any blemishes I have, which is what I prefer. If I want a more full coverage effect with this one I will probably pair it with a cream concealer, something that has a similar consistency as this and one that will easily blend underneath the foundation.
After looking on their website I saw that the description mentions it wears for 16 hours as well as “a lightweight, natural matte finish and medium coverage that’s comfortable and breathable. Ideal for normal, oily, and combination skin.” I have not had the chance to wear this for 16 hours but I do have oily skin and am usually unhappy with how my makeup looks after about 4 hours or so with no touch ups, so far after wearing this for several hours with no setting powder I was impressed with how natural and fairly matte my look stayed. Which is again pleasantly surprising because I love the natural finish of tinted moisturizers or anything similar but can never invest in one since they don’t flatter my skin type.
I’m glad I took a chance and gave this one a try, I will definitely be going back to see what other additions I can make to the makeup collections from Bobbi Brown.
