A Monochromatic Look
Mon·o·chro·mat·ic
adjective
1.containing or using only one color: "monochromatic light"
As someone who wears makeup almost daily I tend to be a pretty neutral girlie, but especially during these drab winter months I start to crave more color! Usually I will stick with a little pop of color on the eyes to play it safe but I do love the way a vibrant blush paired with a less conventional color on the eyes ties in with a cute lip to switch up the routine.
We’ve seen plenty of monochromatic looks done with fashion but when it comes to makeup wearing a singular color may seem less practical, although I think trying something new is always worth the risk. A mauve or pink tone is always a safe bet when trying this look, they are both colors expected to be seen on the lips and cheek, so adding a bit of color to the eyes doesn’t seem so crazy when you go that route.
In this look I used ‘Bee’ blush from Juvia’s Place as my eyeshadow and blush, with ‘Mauve Wives’ lipgloss from Fenty and I think it turned out pretty cute! Since this years “color of the year” is a soft coral tone Called Peach Fuzz, I think I will try this look again with something like that.
