Products of the Week!
So, I’m going to try this new thing where I post about at least products a week. We shall see how it goes… this week it’s going to be about the e.l.f Putty Blush and NYX’s new Blur Tint Foundation.
This cream blush absolutely has a chokehold on my current makeup routine. Who doesn’t like for their blush to look natural… but this one really melts right into the skin. I was really impressed with the formula. A lot of cream blushes can end up almost catching on the skin in a blotchy way that leaves a really patchy and unnatural finish, not this one.
Using a natural haired makeup brush that won’t pick up, or lay down, too much product right away, will give the ability to build a really pretty flush of color!
I’m really hoping they come out with more colors for this line because including really rich and deep colors would be a gorgeous look!
When I started seeing some promotions about this foundation dropping, I got really excited. The concealer NYX launched that seems to be from the same line is so creamy and gives such a natural look that I kind of figured the foundation would be really similar with a little more coverage, and maybe not as hydrating so it wears longer on the face.
It definitely gives more coverage, more than I’d like from a tint foundation. Tbh I was actually pretty disappointed with the finish, and I am usually pretty willing to just mix one foundation with another to make it work if I don’t love the initial look, but this one just wasn’t going to cut it. I could tell right away that I do not like the way this product sits on the skin… it looks dry when I put it on, and I also have pretty oily skin. It’s also said to be a “tint foundation” which makes me think of a tinted moisturizer or something along the lines of that, but I feel like if unless you’re using the tiniest drop of product it is going to wear closer to full coverage. Which is cool, but just not what I was hoping for with this one.
NYX is one of my go-to brands, but I haven’t used many of their products for skin, just lip, eye, and brow products because I feel like that’s what they are mostly known for. Since it seems like they’re continuously expanding with their brand and the face products are little newer for them, I will circle back and give their foundations a try later in the future… but for now this one was a no go, I hate to say.
Have you tried these products yet??!?
